AI website development

The crawlers choosing who gets recommended.

Assistants shortlist vendors before buyers reach a search page. We make sure the systems behind them can reach, read and attribute your content.

The problem

Do you know what the AI crawlers receive?

Most teams have never checked. Bot rules written years ago may block them outright. Content that depends on JavaScript returns nothing. And nothing on the site tells an assistant which pages are authoritative. Each of those is a silent exclusion from answers your buyers are already reading.

What you get

What we work on with you.

01

Deliberate bot policy

Explicit rules for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, CCBot and Google-Extended — allowing what you want cited, blocking what you do not.

02

An llms.txt that points at your best work

A machine-readable guide to the pages you want used as sources, kept current.

03

Fetchable content

Verified by requesting your pages as each crawler and reading what comes back.

04

Attribution that survives quoting

Clear authorship, dates and entity markup so a citation names you.

How we work

Three steps, one engine.

01

Audit

We crawl the site the way an engine does, with and without JavaScript, and show you the gap between what a person sees and what a machine sees.

02

Engineer the fixes

Usually your development team builds from our specification and brief, which keeps the knowledge with you. If you would rather not carry the work, our in-house developers build it instead — the expertise is there either way.

03

Verify against real crawlers

We re-test as Googlebot and as the named AI crawlers, and keep checking as the site changes.

Being blocked is not the same as being unconvincing.

Plenty of sites lose AI visibility to a robots rule nobody has read since 2022.

FAQ

Questions we hear first.

Q

Should we block AI crawlers?

It depends on your model. If you sell expertise and want to be cited, blocking is self-defeating. If your content is the product, selective blocking makes sense. We will lay out the trade-off.

Q

Is llms.txt an actual standard?

An emerging convention, not a ratified standard. It is cheap to add and already read by some tools, so the expected value is positive.

Q

Can you prove a crawler sees us?

We request your pages with each crawler's user agent and show you the response. That is the test.
